The executive order, which appeared on the White House’s website Wednesday but is dated Monday, strengthens the U.S. commitment to defend Qatar, at least during Trump’s presidency…."

The Trump administration and countless aiders and abetters in the media and on social media are doing all they can to tamp down fires about the Qatar announcement, insisting that the training facility being created in Idaho is not a "base" and that these arrangements with foreign countries are par for the course.
But with none other than Steve Bannon attacking the administration's plans for a Qatar "base" in Idaho, this becomes harder to do.
When Hegseth made the announcement of the arrangement with Qatar for a military facility in Idaho, as Al Jazeera reported immediately, Qatar's media attaché to the US Ali al-Ansari stated publicly that Qatar was construcitng the new facility: it will be a Qatar-constructed operation within a US airbase. al-Ansari stated,
@wdlindsy it is exactly the sort of announcement you leave until Friday afternoon with the taxi waiting outside and the destination is the nearest bar....
"'Qatar has made an initial 10-year commitment to construct and maintain a dedicated facility within an existing US airbase' to offer 'advanced training and to enhance interoperability in defending and advancing our shared interests around the world,' al-Ansari said in a statement."
For its part, Fox News immediately stated,
"The new base will host Qatari F-15 fighter jets and pilots."
