A few years ago I was quite happy to see the number of games that started to run natively on Linux.
Today I don't see the amount of games that I expected to be made for it, which is disappointing for me.
You can't say a game is compatible with Linux only when Proton makes it work on it.
Just saying.

Why is it that every single cat manages to have their own neurotic, strange, little personality that is nothing like any other cat?
I've met a lot of dogs, and they can be different and have personalities, but there is much less... diversity.

This paper reports that there is a low-dim subspaces that encode numeric properties monotonically, which can be used to "edit" the LLMs' response by increasing or decreasing in the numeric dimension.

Car parks with space for 80 cars or more are now required by law to be covered with solar panels.
- Parks between 80-400 spaces have 5 years to comply
- Parks with spaces of 400+ have 3 years to comply
This will result in about 11 gigawatts of power.
This should be required everywhere!

My cat is trying to get me to chase her so she is howling at me from the bathtub because she thinks she's not allowed in the bathtub. She is though, and thats totally a rule she made up for herself, but I am playing my part and chasing her out of the bathtub for different reasons (because it is cute when she is all sprinting around). So now she effectively is banned from the bathtub and I am just like "this is how ideology works"
@jonny@neuromatch.social My cat @hermione@pixelfed.fr also likes when I chase her. Usually I start dashing at her in the living room, and she runs at full speed towards the bedroom where she hides under the bed.
She also likes to get into the (empty) bathtub when I’m in the bathroom, and I never thought about it, but it may well be that she wants me to chase her too when she does that. I’ll give it a try next time, thanks for the idea!

It's getting really difficult to justify using Patreon to begin a creative endeavor, given how often they seem to pull the rug out from under their creators.
I wonder what a fedi version of Patreon would look like... a custom rollout of @bonfire that included per-account integration with Stripe's billing service? Maybe the in-development Bonfire Cooperation would be a good starting point...

When I stopped being active at Twitter, I had more than 45,000 followers and a moderate amount of engagement (replies, retweets, etc.).
I have a third fewer followers here, and at least 10 times the genuine engagement. Sure, some bots, but most of it is genuine -- and useful.
I no longer see what (some) people I respect are saying publicly. I miss their thoughts, and wish they'd recognize that by staying active there they are supporting a dangerous extremist.
They feel trapped. They're not.

At this point, when I see someone's byline or bio mention a presence on Twitter/X, it downgrades that person’s credibility to critical levels. It screams “my craving for attention outweighs my sense of ethics.” Not the strongest platform for one’s credibility!
