The thing about the argument is that it feels good. They feel like they are taking a stand. The problem is that real lives hang in the balance.

I was just thinking yesterday: Imagine if Harris were President. She’d suck in a bunch of ways. You could yell at her, make fun of her, criticize her all day without getting taken off the air or ending up in a concentration camp. Ie, democracy. And she might shift under enough criticism. Occasionally admit fault, take blame, etc. But then: purity voters. 🤦
@mastodonmigration I've said it before, but voting for a politician isn't the same thing as picking a life partner or even a dinner guest. It's NORMAL to hold your nose sometimes and vote for the imperfect, next best. @nazokiyoubinbou @benroyce
