@stefan bluesky was never expected to be a serious alternative to twitter/threads, it was ment only as a thing for monopolists to point their fingers at and say that they don't violate the monopoly rules because see, there's this other thing there and we didn't use our might to stop it. If you see it from this angle, it all makes much more sense, don't you think? but yeah, if atproto is to have any life past bluesky the company, I'd say bluesky the service is better off without bluesky the company altogether, especially since we're starting to slowly see some actual, true decentralisation efforts
@stefan lol, she did not speak to her PR team then...
@stefan How *is* Bluesky funded anyways? I'll never go back to Twitter and bsky isn't awful but I worry about its future.
Is this the start of another exodus that has many newbies showing up to Mastodon/Fediverse?
Are we rolling out the Welcome Mat?
@KrajciTom @stefan @stux @FediTips @mastodonmigration @Gargron If they can hold off a month or two until quote toots are in a stable release (4.5?), I'd appreciate that. I would like to see the exodus after QTs are squared away so we don't have to hear "wait no quoting here??" from newcomers.
@stefan pretty extraordinary. I mean regardless of what she thinks, to post it like that, is... well extraordinary
@stefan I think it’s interesting that their CEO is actually engaging on this level , and in such an emotional way. Are their fundings running out or something?
