Mike Johnson tried tonight to characterize the upcoming No Kings 2.0 day on 10/18 as a “Hate America” movement. Wrong. Utterly wrong. To reject dictators, authoritarians, and tyrants is to love America, to love the very idea at the heart of it.
@heidilifeldman Translating from Repubican to English, the (appropriately named) Johnson is really intimating that the Orange Regime IS America now, because the old norms are long gone and they can do whatever they want with gross impunity, and as such the Johnson is absolutely correct that we hate this new America now, because we do. #MakeAmericaAmericaAgain
@heidilifeldman There's unlikely to be a bunch of people out there saying this country is shit. If they do they're unlikely to be up on the podium. If they are they're unlikely to get much cheering.
Can't say the same about a Trump rally, can we.
Really something having those types point the finger at us and say we hate America :p
I hope everything tastes like ass for the rest of their lives.
@heidilifeldman Call your House rep and senators - especially if they're Republicans - and ask if they agree with Mike Johnson (and Scalise and Emmert) that if you protest what this Republican administration is doing you are a terrorist who hates America.
@heidilifeldman
There could be a literal Fuck America movement. There's nothing wrong with that. He's not in charge of who we gather with or what we say about the government. Prick.
I'm thinking of making my sign something like
Returning America To Love!
I want the people who aren't marching with us to see that.
