How do you share what you're working on, from early ideas to data and results?
@mayel Tbh. mostly via fedi; that's where I have the most 'reach' and where relevant people will see it.
(But my case is somewhat special, the Digital Humanities community is quite well represented here)
But I'd love a way to share things with a smaller circle before going all-in; maybe even habe people 'subscribe' to such in-progress posts(?)
(ofc I also share a lot in person, too)
@schoeneh I'm interested in the Digital Humanities presence on the #fediverse. Where does it gather around? Specific server? Multiple communities? How do you reach them?

@ccamara Well, at least the German-speaking Digital Humanities have one specific server: fedihum.org (which is also my 'home'^^)
It's being provided by our academic association DHd, but is open to everyone who is in some way related to DH - this way we also have a couple of non-German-speaking folks on the server.
It was set up in late 2022 and was ready as a new home when Musk took over Twitter, so a large swath of the community moved there.
The wider DH-community (especially US and UK) is on Bluesky, but there are also mayn folks on servers like hcommons.social and elsewhere.

@mayel I tend to only share in person, but of course this is often very limited - if only by practicalities!

@mayel, PhD supervision meetings, sometimes seminars or conferences. I don't share much about my research 😁

@mayel talking/coffee, chat/message, mostly use platforms for publishing and not so much for early ideas.
@mayel I don't do it often. The biggest platform to do that would be LinkedIn but I hate it from the bottom of my heart.
@mayel Mainly LinkedIn at the moment
